Description, clothing, jewerly and more : A black tank top, black shorts, black shoes and possibly hoop-style earrings, hoop-style bEthnicity : lets and one or more necklaces.
Distinguishing characteristics, birthmarks, tattoos : Caucasian female. Brown hair, green eyes. Melissa has one of her ears pierced once and the other ear pierced twice. She had Norplant, a birth control device, implanted in her upper left arm at the time of her 1992 disappearance. She also had a BB from a BB gun embedded in her buttocks, with a resulting scar. Melissa always polishes her nails, using conventional colors. Her nickname is Missy and some Age at the time of disappearance: ncies give her name as Melissa K. Melissa.





Information on the case from local sources, may or may not be correct : Melissa was last seen leaving her boyfriend's residence in the 1700 block of Blakely Avenue in Pensacola, Florida on June 25, 1992 at approximately 8:00 p.m. She planned to walk to another friend's home at Patricia Drive and Clara Street, almost a mile away. Her boyfriend walked with her for part of the way before they separated.
Melissa never arrived at her friend's home and has not been seen again. She left behind her purse, all of her clothing and two paychecks from her new job at The Original Point Restaurant on Innerarity Road. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance, which remains unsolved.

A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are not known. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons. In most parts of the world, a missing person will usually be found quickly. While criminal abductions are some of the most widely reported missing person cases, these account for only 2�5% of missing children in Europe. By contrast, some missing person cases remain unresolved for many years. Laws related to these cases are often complex since, in many jurisdictions, relatives and third parties may not deal with a person's assets until their death is considered proven by law and a formal death certificate issued. The situation, uncertainties, and lack of closure or a funeral resulting when a person goes missing may be extremely painful with long-lasting effects on family and friends.
